Mercruiser changed the size (O.D.) and material of the gimbal water tube.
Early tubes were 5/8" O.D. and made of copper.
Later, the size was increased to 3/4" O.D. for better water flow and
the materials changed from copper to plastic.
SOME of the 3/4" tubes were copper but most are plastic.
You need to measure the O.D. of your old water tube before ordering.
Several items are affected by this and you need to order all the matching
items of the same size.
You can not convert an older style 5/8" to the larger 3/4".
The hole in the gimbal housing is not large enough.
