Old Mercruiser Old Design lower swival pins were steel.
The lower needle bearing in the Gimbal Ring would be a needle bearing.
Mercruiser then changed the lower pin to the New Design aluminum and they installed
a nylon bushing in the Gimbal Ring in place of the needle bearing.
You can not retrofit an Old Style to a New Style without replacing
the Gimbal Ring too.
The New Style Aluminum Swival Pin will be included with a new Gimbal Ring.
